Featured Photo - 2/17

I never forget where my favorite girls came from, and that's easy to do when Cyber Girls are in question. In the early 2000's, Cyber Girls were a new idea, and many of them have faded away, many of them being all-time classics. Back then, Cyber Girls were unique and exotic, and always interesting. Not like today, where most of the girls are either too fake or too unworthy. In 2003, Merritt Cabal was selected as Cyber Girl of the Year, and boy, did she deserve it. Merritt was and still is one of the great Playboy talents of all-time, bringing about a low-key girl next door sensuality that was otherworldly.

It's clearly shown in this week's Featured Photo selection. In this one, Merritt was at her absolute best, being completely in the nude and strutting her stuff. Merritt was so appealing to me because of how damn good she looked naked. I mean, completely naked. Miss Cabal was outstanding without props, just her natural looks and wonderful body. She did it so well with her cute face and understated approach. Maybe she wasn't the most famous girl because of her lack of luster and pomp, but Merritt was definitely one of the greatest pure "lookers" in Cyber Girl history.

This photo really floored me because of how amazing Merritt's body looks from the side. In her other pictorials (which must be seen to be believed), Merritt's body is incredible, but the curvature and perfection can't be easily noticed. I think most of the time her girl-next-door charm overshadows just how voluptuous and awesome her body was, but this picture showed it beautifully. Also, the way she held her breasts up with her crossed arms and her slightly wet hair is draped over her face... priceless. Not to mention the photography quality is excellent, and the pink hues in the background complement her skin tone very well. An exemplary job is done by legendary George Georgiou in this one. I miss you, Merritt!

Featured Photo - 1/25

In 2005, Miss September was a plain Jane with not a whole lot about her that really kept her in our minds until now. Playmates need defining moments and great photographs to define their careers, and Vanessa Hoelscher wasn't anyone to really mobilize a fan base or get people excited.

All except for one feature.

In her pictorial, photo #5 was absolutely breathtaking. It's a backside shot of hers that was shot for the magazine spread, with perfect lighting and an even more perfect pose by Vanessa. The photo is gently lit without overpowering or bleaching out the model, while bringing out the natural colors in her body. Her butt looks excellent and perfect, and the arch of her back is sexy because of the way she clasps the walls to her sides. Everything about this pose makes it a classic: from the way Vanessa's hair lightly wafts against her face, to that irresistible look on her face, complete with those hot eyelashes and those classic parted lips. One thing that sells the photo is the way Vanessa holds on to the walls, with her elbows bent in a picture-perfect pose. I never thought Vanessa was the most photogenic model, but boy did she work it in this one. She wants it, and she wants it hard in this one. Great job, Miss Hoelscher.

Featured Photo - 12/30

This week's featured photo is a breathtaking shot of some of my favorite Playboy twins, the recent Misses December 2003, Sarah and Deisy Teles. The minute I heard the news that these brilliant Brazilian twins would be Playmates, it excited me to the point where I wished for a dynamic posing style similar to the Bernaola twins of 2000. Great chemistry makes great duos, and Sarah and Deisy were no different.

This shot is from their portfolio series, and depicts them taking an outdoor beachside shower. I loved the premise of the sudsy set, since it allowed both girls to really play off each other and feed off of the intense sexual aura by touching each other and lathering each other down. The result was a shot like this one. I always love it when two girls go back to back and almost show a 360-degree view of their bodies, and these twins have almost identical bodies with awesome features. The girls grind up against each other in this pictorial in a pseudo-sexual pose, while Sarah's soaped-up ass is front-and-center. The sense of pleasure in Deisy's facial expression is very awesome, and it's just an overall natural shot full of passion. Beautiful!

Featured Photo - 12/23

I thought I'd start a new feature on this blog, titled "Featured Photo," where I post outright a classic photo that I think is one of the most influential or well-produced and captured photos in recent memory. These photos have to be the cream of the crop, either bringing up names of relatively unknown Playboy models or seasoned Playmates, doing what they do best and striking a pose that can only be struck once in a lifetime. I'll present these about weekly, although they may be further in between occasionally.

So for my first entry, here you have it -

This photo by Teri Marie Harrison, Miss October 2002, is her very best and one of the edgiest and most surprising photos in Playboy's past. Playboy is a world where the girls often cite their sexual interests, and often even intimate about them in a tongue-in-cheek fashion, but rarely put it on display. Sure, the gals get naked, but there's more to it than that... it's working the camera and showing it. In this photograph, Teri really made it hers. She took the vibrator into her underwear without turning it too lewd or crossing the line of classiness, while maintaining an air of incredible sexuality and feminine power. The outfit complements her fantastically, and Teri is also one of the best Playmates to come out in the past 10 years, so that doesn't hurt, either. Take a look at that facial expression, and it says it all -- this girl is having a good time.
